Oldie But Goodie: We Miss Huntsville Family Night at Melt Huntsville

Family Night at Melt Huntsville

Family Fridays are our favorite time of the week. Mom doesn’t cook and we get the chance to go out and have a fun time as a family.

Well this week was no different. We ventured into a place called Melt. This to me had ultimate family atmosphere.

The restaurant had boards games for you to play and the napkins were in lunch boxes. When the weather is warmer, they have giant outdoor games like Jenga and Connect 4. From the moment we walked in the door everyone was so friendly and very welcoming. The menu was insane. They took comfort food ideas and turned them into sandwiches. So, lets dive in.

We started with the $3 drink special for mom and dad, it was not watered down lol and the kids had their favorite sprite. For an appetizer we tried their version of a mozzarella stick called Barson's Bites. The cheese was wrapped in pretzels and served with a spicy ranch. Look if the kids eat it, they must have been delicious!

Now!!! Lets talk food because, I mean obviously that’s what I was there for to have a break form the kitchen… Just being honest

My son had the grilled cheese and lil mama had fries because I mean my kids stick to what they know so I take what I can get especially at a restaurant.

Now lets get into our food

My husband had the mac and grilled cheese and OMG it was heavenly. I had the Ole Smokey but, I switched to the blackened chicken breast instead of the turkey and it was unbelievably delicious.

Tim our waiter was the best he wasn’t pushy or tried to rush us but he was very attentive to our table.

My husband has a major sweet tooth and their fried oreos were just what he needed. They dough was airy and they used double stuffed oreos which was perfect because the oreos didn’t disappear in the dough. As you can see, someone else enjoyed then as well.

This place was everything we needed and more as a family. It brought us together and the owners genuinely cared. They didn’t just walk past and say how was it like *cough some places do * cough but, they actually stopped and talked to you about your experience and even how your day was.

What are some of your favorite family night places to eat? How do you make it easy getting a family in and out of a restaurant?
